Terms of service

This page has not been translated yet and is shown in English.

Medical disclaimer

Read this part first, because it matters more than the rest.

PillSeal is a reminder tool. It is not a medical device, and it does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. It does not check whether a medication is right for you, whether two medications interact, or whether a dose is safe.

Always follow the instructions given by your doctor or pharmacist. Never change a dose or a schedule because of something PillSeal shows you.

Do not rely on PillSeal alone for any medication that is critical to your health or safety. Alarms depend on your device being switched on, charged and working, and on the permissions you have granted. Software and hardware can fail. PillSeal is there to help you remember, not to be your only safeguard.

If you think you are having a medical emergency, contact your local emergency service.

Who these terms are with

PillSeal is made by Collin Arumai Harinath Mendons Jeyaseelan, an independent developer based in Switzerland. These terms are an agreement between you and me. This page says “we” in most places because it reads better, but PillSeal is one person.

They are not an agreement with Apple. Apple distributes the app and handles payment, but Apple is not responsible for PillSeal and has no obligation to provide any support or maintenance for it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

What you need to run it

PillSeal requires an iPhone running iOS 26 or later. The alarms and the on-device label scanning rely on features Apple introduced in that version, so earlier versions are not supported.

Licence

Your use of the PillSeal app is governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement, the standard agreement that applies to apps distributed through the App Store.

You can read it here: Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

That agreement covers the licence to use the app, the scope of permitted use, and Apple’s role as the distributor. The sections below add the things specific to PillSeal.

Subscriptions

PillSeal requires an active subscription to use. There is no free tier. New users get a 3-day free trial, and once the trial ends the app cannot be used unless the subscription continues.

If you let the subscription lapse, nothing is deleted. Your medications, schedules, dose history and photos stay on your device, and they are all there again if you resubscribe.

Two plans:

  • Monthly at $4.99 per month
  • Yearly at $29.99 per year

Both begin with the same 3-day free trial. Prices shown are for the United States. Apple adjusts pricing for your region, and your local currency and taxes apply.

A few things worth being explicit about:

  • Payment is charged to your Apple Account when the trial ends, and again at the start of each renewal period.
  • The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Cancel at least 24 hours before the free trial ends and you are not charged. Cancelling inside that final 24 hours may not stop the first payment, because Apple begins processing it before the trial is up.
  • You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account settings on your device.
  • Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. Cancel through Apple.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us, under Apple’s own policy.
  • If the price changes, Apple notifies you before it takes effect and asks for your agreement where its rules require that. You can cancel instead.

Your content

Anything you put into PillSeal, meaning medication details, notes, dose history and photos, stays on your device. We never receive it, so we claim no rights over it and we cannot recover it for you if you lose it. Keeping your own backups is worth doing.

Acceptable use

PillSeal is for your own use, or for helping someone you care for. Do not resell it, redistribute it, or try to work around the subscription. There is nothing here you would not have assumed.

Age

You need to be old enough to hold an Apple Account and to enter into a contract where you live. If you are younger than that, an adult has to manage the subscription for you.

Availability

PillSeal is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind beyond those the law requires. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free, and we may change or discontinue features. We will not knowingly break something you depend on without good reason.

Ending these terms

You can stop at any time by cancelling through Apple and deleting the app. We can end your access if you break these terms, although for anything short of serious misuse we will write to you first. The medical disclaimer and the limitation of liability survive.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of PillSeal, including any missed dose, incorrect dose or health outcome. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for PillSeal in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Swiss law, and the ordinary courts at my domicile in Switzerland have jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, and you can still bring proceedings there.

Changes

If these terms change we will post the new version here with an updated date above.
